Mandated Reporter

At Bayside Church, protecting children and students is a responsibility we all share. While California law designates certain individuals as Mandated Reporters, we strongly encourage everyone, staff and volunteers alike, to report any reasonable suspicion of abuse or neglect. This page provides instructions for completing the required training, how to file a report with the appropriate authorities, and how to submit a copy of your report to Bayside. Your action could make a critical difference in the life of a child, and we are grateful for your care and commitment.

Reporting to Authorities

If you have a reasonable suspicion of child abuse or neglect, you must report it immediately. This is done using the official Suspected Child Abuse Report (BCIA 8572) form. After completing the form, submit it to the appropriate authorities as required.

Need help deciding where to report?
You may contact either Child Protective Services or your local police department. Procedures can vary by county, so either agency can direct you to the appropriate office if needed.
